Writing 70th birthday poems is a bit tricky, as like purple and orange there isn't really any words that rhyme with seventy, thankfully there are lots of words that end in -ly so we can use these instead. Alternatively we can just make sure that we don't use seventy at the end of the sentence. The reason why most of us are so put off writing 70th birthday poems is that the mind goes blank and we can't think of anything to write. But the trick is just to do it. Start writing what ever comes into your head. I have been know to sit down and write "I can't think of anything to write, that wall is painted cream, it's raining, I don't like this pen... etc etc.." Once I start writing about rubbish, the good stuff always comes out eventually!
